Hardwired Internships

Hardwired offers internships to interested college undergraduate and graduate students. Specific areas of need are in: writing/marketing, programs, international, graphic design/communications, and general/communications. Internships may be during the summer or fall or spring semesters. Interns would be based at the Richmond office for ten to twenty hours per week.

Social Media/Digital Marketing Internship Opportunity



Hardwired Global is seeking a reliable and skilled Social Media/Digital Marketing intern to assist our growing organization. Hardwired is a non-profit organization that provides education and training in human rights and religious freedom for educators and leaders worldwide. Hardwired defends the human rights of every person regardless of their religion, belief, or other status.


Selected interns will have the opportunity to apply their education and skills to support the organization’s work in the U.S. and other countries. Interns will gain invaluable experience working with a team of professional experts, develop an understanding of the human right to religious freedom, and have an incredible opportunity to make a positive impact in the human rights field with Hardwired staff and partners worldwide.


The position requires a minimum 3-month commitment, Monday-Friday, of 10-20 hours a week, with the potential to extend the internship. This is not a paid position however a stipend is provided for compensation.


Applicants should have experience with composing high-quality material and posting on various social media platforms with an emphasis on social media marketing. Applicants should have a strong work ethic and experience with general administrative and operational support. Applicants should have a general degree of cross-cultural and religious literacy, be aware of current international events, and be prepared to work with people in the Middle East, Africa, and other areas.


*Internship candidates will be vetted prior to final approval.


Specific responsibilities include:


  • Understand the overall concept of the organization, including brand identity, audience types, goals, and various aspects of programs
  • Manage the organization’s social media accounts by creating content and ads, posting daily, monitoring all platforms, and analyzing analytics
  • Create and execute social media campaigns across all platforms
  • Create performance reports to track progress across social media platforms
  • Create and edit video content

 

Skills and qualifications include:


  • A background (or currently studying) digital communications, advertising or journalism
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Mastery of social media platforms including Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and Twitter
  • Knowledge of social media analytics software such as Facebook Insights, Google Analytics, Twitter Analytics, and Hootsuite to track audience engagement and campaign performance
  • Experience with social media managing applications and image/video editing software

General Internship Opportunity (Seeking Administrative, Research and Technical Skills)

Applicants should have a strong work ethic and experience with general administrative and operational support. Applicants should have a general degree of cross-cultural and religious literacy, be aware of current international events, and be prepared to work with people in the Middle East, Africa, and other areas.

Specific responsibilities may include:


  • Assisting with events and presentations, including preparing materials, managing information, set up and managing booths
  • Assisting with social media when needed by creating content and ads and analyzing analytics
  • General editing and document review, including note-taking and transcribing, and document creation or design
  • Preparation with travel and logistics for trainings, including copying materials and other support
  • Assisting with research, collecting information and organizing data from trainings and participants.
  • Other tasks as needed

Skills and qualifications include:


  • Capable of managing processes, systems, and general organization
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs and document creation
  • Ability to create visual presentations
  • Ability to edit and manage learning management systems, provide basic technical support
