Hardwired Global Summer Internships

Hardwired is accepting applications for its summer internship program. The program is open to
college and graduate students who are studying law and communications.
Hardwired is a non-profit organization that provides education and training in human rights —
specifically the right to freedom of thought, conscience, religion or belief — for leaders
worldwide. Hardwired defends the human rights of every person regardless of their religion,
belief, or other status.
The legal internship will focus on research related to Hardwired’s programs in the Middle East
and North Africa on blasphemy laws. The communications internship will assist with online
communications about Hardwired’s work in several countries. The internships will be based in
Richmond, Virginia for eight weeks between June to August and compensation is commensurate
with experience at $10-20/hour.
Applicants for the communication internship should demonstrate excellent writing skills,
knowledge of social media platforms, and ability to creatively communicate stories of impact
with a broad audience.
Applicants for the legal internships should be knowledgeable about human rights and issues in
the Middle East and North Africa. They should also have an understanding of Islamic law in
those regions. Applicants should have excellent research and writing skills.
